(MPI) – On February 28th 2017, at the headquarters of the MPI, Minister Nguyen Chi Dung received and awarded the Medal “For the cause of Vietnamese Planning and Investment” to Mr. Kawada Atsusuke, Chief Representative of Japanese External Trade Organization (JETRO) to recognize his contributions to the development of this sector.

At the meeting, Mr. Kawada Atsusuke, Chief Representative of JETRO informed the business situation of Japanese firms in Vietnam based on the JETRO’s survey of current situation of their production and business activities in Asia and Oceania in 2016. According to its outcomes, over 60% of Japanese businesses in Vietnam tend to expand their business operation, a high rate as compared to other countries. Vietnam continues to be considered as an important investment destination, ranking 4th out of 15 nations on stable socio - political situation. More than a half of the whole businesses also highly appreciated the market scale, growth and cheap labor of Vietnam.
Thanking Mr. Kawada Atsusuke for his sharing, Minister Nguyen Chi Dung said that the high rate of the trend “expanding business operation” demonstrates the attention of Japanese firms to Vietnamese market. Vietnam Government has been doing the utmost to improve investment business climate and welcome all businesses in general and Japanese ones in particular. With the functions of state management over foreign investment, the MPI is always ready to collaborate with and facilitate foreign enterprises doing their business in Vietnam.
On the behalf of the MPI, Minister Nguyen Chi Dung awarded the Medal “For the cause of Vietnamese Planning and Investment” to Mr. Kawada Atsusuke to recognize his contributions to the development of this sector. The Minister hoped that on the new position, Mr. Kawada Atsusuke would be successful and continue contributing to the development of Vietnam – Japan relation.
Mr. Kawada Atsusuke expressed his honor to get the Medal and thanked the MPI for the warm feelings and assistances during his tenure in Vietnam. He hoped that businesses of the two countries would contine cooperating closely, contributing to Vietnam – Japan comprehensive strategic partnership./.
