(MPI) – On March 14th 2017, at the headquarters of the MPI, Deputy Minister Nguyen The Phuong had a meeting with Mr. Kim Jinoh, Country Director of Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) on the occasion of his new appointment to Vietnam.

Congratulating Mr. Kim Jinoh on his new appointment as Country Director of KOICA in Vietnam, Deputy Minister Nguyen The Phuong assessed that Vietnam – Korea collaboration and strategic partnership has been increasingly developing in all fields of investment, development cooperation, politics and diplomatics. Korea is a leading investor among 120 nations and territories investing in Vietnam and a leading trade partner of Vietnam, Vietnam – Korea Free Trade Agreement was signed. As for development cooperation, Korea is one of leading countries providing bilateral ODA, preferential loans and non-refundable aids to Vietnam through such organizations as Keximbank, KOICA, investing into priority projects in education – training, science – technology, coping with climate change, green growth, infrastructure, overcoming post-war bomb and mine consequences…
The Deputy Minister highly appreciated the collaboration and assistances of KOICA in particular and the contributions of Korea in general to the socio-economic development of Vietnam. He also believed that Mr. Kim Jinoh would continue promoting the collaboration between KOICA and Vietnam, contributing to Vietnam – Korea relations, especially in development cooperation.
Speaking at the meeting, Country Director of KOICA Kim Jinoh thanked the Deputy Minister for his assessments in particular and the MPI for the past close collaboration in general. He said that the MPI is an important agency and key partner of KOICA during its operation in Vietnam. Country Partnership Strategy (CPS) period 2016-2020 will be sent to Vietnam in the coming time and KOICA will do its utmost to successfully implement the CPS and achieve the goals set forth, contributing to Vietnam’s development and the bilateral diplomatic relations./.
