(MPI) – On March 20th 2017, at the headquarters of the MPI, Deputy Minister Nguyen The Phuong authorized by the Minister had a meeting and awarded the Medal to Mr. Henning Vemmelund Pedersen, Country Programme Manager of International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) in Vietnam to recognize his contributions to the development of Planning and Investment sector.

IFAD is a specialized agency of the United Nations dedicated to eradicating rural poverty in developing countries, seeks to ensure that poor rural people have better access to and skills and organization they need to take advantages of natural resources, improving agricultural technology, especially for farmers, landless ones, fishermen, poor women…
IFAD’s assistances cover 11 provinces from the Nothern mountainous to Central, Central Highlands, South Central, Mekong River Delta. Regarding Vietnam – IFAD cooperation program period 2012-2020, Vietnam Government continues collaborating with IFAD to review and select mountainous areas, ethnic minorities, areas with high poverty rate to support and meet development priorities, environmental protection and climate change adaptation…
Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister Nguyen The Phuong highly appreciated the assistances and collaboration of IFAD to Vietnam in the past time, especially in agriculture. He also affirmed that Mr. Henning Vemmelund Pedersen has got many contributions to the development of Vietnam as the Country Programme Manager of IFAD.
At the meeting, authorized by the Minister of the MPI, Deputy Minister Nguyen The Phuong awarded Medal “For the cause of Vietnamese Planning and Investment sector” to Mr. Henning Vemmelund Pedersen to recognize his contributions to the development of the sector.
Mr. Henning Vemmelund Pedersen thanked the Deputy Minister for the assessments and expressed his honor to get this Medal. He also thanked the MPI for the warm feelings and supports during his tenure in Vietnam./.
