PM: Vietnam expects to upgrade two-way trade with Greece

PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc supposed that Viet Nam and Greece need to promote the two-way trade value as the figure only reached US$330 million per year at his meeting with the Hellenic Ambassador to Viet Nam E. Raptakis on June 4 in Ha Noi.

Hailing the outcomes in the two nations’ relationship over the recent years, the PM affirmed that the upcoming visit to Greece made by Deputy PM, FM PhamBinhMinh is aimed at discussing measures to boost bilateral cooperation.

He expressed his hope that Greece will support Viet Nam to promote the relations with the EU and soon ink the EU-Viet Nam Free Trade Agreement, paving the way for accelerating the two nations’ economic and trade relations.

Viet Nam expects to further cooperate with Greece in advantageous fields of ship building and repair, maritime transport services and supply and harbor, he said, affirming that Viet Nam will facilitate Hellenic enterprises and investors to invest in Viet Nam and hopes that the Ambassador will bring more Hellenic enterprises to Viet Nam to seek for business opportunities.

The Vietnamese leader consented with the Ambassador’s suggestion to soon completing negotiations on theAgreement on Avoidance of Double Taxationand theAgreement on Maritime Transport.

He suggested the two sides’ functional agencies facilitate visitors fromboth sides, asking to launch cooperative agreements on culture, tourism and exchanging experiences and cooperation inarcheology, preservation and restoration of historical monuments.

The PM expected the two nations will continue close coordination at the UN, ASEAN-EU and ASEM.

The Ambassador agreed with the PM’s measures to boost the two nations’ relations in the upcoming time, affirming to do his utmost to fulfill his assigned tasks to make contributions to the two sides’ relationship.

He hailed the two sides’ exchanges of delegations at all levels, especially Deputy PM, FM PhamBinhMinh’s upcoming official visit to Greece./.
