(MPI) - On May 18, 2020, Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment Vu Dai Thang received Mr. Cho Han-Deog, Country Director of Korea International Cooperation Agency ( KOICA ) in Vietnam on the occasion of starting his mission in Vietnam.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Cho Han-Deog thanked Deputy Minister Vu Dai Thang for taking the time to welcome and expressed his honour to be recognized for working term in Vietnam. At the same time, he affirmed to make all efforts to further contribute to the cooperation between Vietnam and Korea in his term of office.
Mr. Cho Han-Deog informed that the Office of KOICA was established in 1994 and in the course of its operation in Vietnam, KOICA always received valuable assistance from the Ministry of Planning and Investment. He also indicated that Vietnam was one of the most important countries in the South policy of the Korean Government.
Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister Vu Dai Thang congratulated Mr. Cho Han-Deog on his new position and said that Korea was the largest investment partner and the second-biggest non-refundable aid donor and the third largest trading partner of Vietnam. Vietnam is also home to the largest overseas Korean community in the world.
The Deputy Minister emphasized that the Korean Government considered Vietnam as one of the important partners in South policy of South Korea. This is a very suitable policy in the relationship of economy, trade and investment between the two countries. He also expected Vietnam and Korea to continue strengthening cooperation in various fields to promote further relations between the two countries.
Deputy Minister Vu Dai Thang also hoped that, as KOICA Country Director, Mr. Cho Han-Deog would always work closely with the Government, Ministry of Planning and Investment of Vietnam and contribute to further strengthening the cooperative relationship between Vietnam and South Korea in the coming time./.
