Speaking at the reception, Deputy Minister Ngoc highly appreciated the cooperative relationship between Vietnam and South Korea, in which trade and investment play a crucial role in realizing the goals of the strategic partnership between the two countries.
She also hailed the business investment activities of South Korean enterprises, including Posco Group in Vietnam over the past period, as well as their goodwill in continuing to expand investment activities in Vietnam, especially in projects in the LNG power sector.
Kim Dea Yeon stated that Posco Group has been investing in the Vietnamese market since 1991 and is currently interested in investing in the Quynh Lap LNG Power Plant project in Nghe An. With extensive experience in the production and operation of the energy sector, Posco commits to partnering with the Vietnamese government in this field.
Addressing the concerns of Posco, Deputy Minister Ngoc mentioned that the Quynh Lap LNG Power Plant project in Nghe An is one of the thermal power projects using LNG included in the list of priority investment power source projects, approved by the Prime Minister in the implementation plan of the Power Development Plan VIII.
In terms of policy, the Vietnamese Government in general, and Nghe An province in particular, are very interested in, encourage, and desire to attract investment to promote this project. The project falls under the jurisdiction of the Nghe An Provincial People's Committee and has already attracted interest from several investors.
Deputy Minister Ngoc affirmed that the Ministry of Planning and Investment will always accompany and support investors, including Posco, to conduct business and investment effectively in Vietnam./.
