Minister calls for promotion of Vietnam’s investment environment and policies to Korean businesses

(MPI) - Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung, who is accompanying Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on an official visit to South Korea, had a meeting with the Korea Federation of SMEs (KBIZ) and the Industrial Bank of Korea (IBK) on July 1 (local time).

At a working session with KBIZ Chairman Kim Ki-moon and IBK Chairman and CEO Kim Sung-tae, Minister Dung hailed IBK and KBIZ’s active activities to promote investment and business cooperation, especially supporting SMEs of both countries. Expressing his impression at the business development policy of South Korea as well as the entrepreneurial spirit and dynamism and willingness to face challenges of Korean businesses, he said that Korean SMEs is the driving force and important factor for economic development, job creation, and production and value chain.

The minister called for closer partnership between KBIZ, IBK and Vietnamese MPI in exchanging experiences to support the development of SME community, IBK’s  credit support and financing plan for Vietnamese businesses and SMEs.

IBK and KBIZ also need to promote Vietnam’s environment and investment policies to Korean businesses, and connect the two countries’ SMEs in the coming time.

The two sides discussed issues of concern such as plans to strengthen cooperation between the two countries’ SMEs, the role of the KBIZ and the IBK in transferring methods and experiences to SMEs, promotion of Vietnam’s environment and investment policies to Korean businesses, and approval on launching of IBK representative office in Hanoi./.
