Minister Nguyen Chi Dung works with France’s leading innovation and start-up supportive centers
(MPI) - Minister Nguyen Chi Dung led the MPI’s delegation to visit and work at the world’s largest “start-up incubator” at Station F in Paris and La French Tech, a national hub for innovation and start-up support of France on November 4th, 2021. The visit of the MPI’s delegation was organized within the framework of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh’s official visit to France.

Station F has currently been the world’s largest start-up incubator inaugurated and having operated in June 2017 with the purpose of supporting the best conditions for Paris to become a hub of innovation and high technology. After less than five years, Station F has gathered 1,000 French and international startups; 100 large technology companies and organizations from 21 different countries and their global corporations such as Microsoft, Facebook, Naver, Free Telecom, and HEC Universityare invited to sponsor startups. Station F becomes one of the innovation and technology hubs in the world with its special connection, which focuses on incubating startups and gathers investment funds and leading technology businesses.

In Vietnam, the National Innovation Center (NIC), the MPI was established by the Prime Minister in October 2019. It is the only national agency to develop an innovation ecosystem; Support innovative businesses and startups; Develop innovative human resources and operate the Vietnam Innovation Network. The NIC has been continuously making efforts to connect and expand cooperation with many international organizations in searching knowledge, financial resources and experiences; supporting the business and Vietnamese startup communities under the MPI’s leadership in recent years.

Identifying the comprehensive development of human resources, science - technology, and innovation are strategic breakthroughs for socio-economic development by 2030 under the Vietnamese Government’s strategic vision, Minister Nguyen Chi Dung stressed that Vietnam hopes that the NIC would become an innovation hub not only in Vietnam but also in Asia and the world.

“La French Tech”, under the French Government is a national center for supporting startups and innovation in France. It is also a unique model to gather innovative startups, investors, policy makers and organizations. La French Tech targets to enable France to become one of the most attractive destinations over the world to develop global companies with the “French technology” brand which have positive impact on community and significance in the future.

La French Tech has implemented many breakthrough mechanisms and policies to attract resources and participation of large corporations, billionaires, etc. for the start-up and innovation development in France, aiming to make Paris the leading start-up capital in Europe. The French Government spends EUR 2-3 billion on La French Tech and its communities every year.

La French Tech is one of the prosperous centers in building and developing an innovation and start-up ecosystem, making a significant contribution to promoting French technology over the world.

The position and development efforts of La French Tech refer to Vietnam's NIC, hence Minister Nguyen Chi Dung proposed a close relation between La French Tech and the NIC to coordinate and develop the innovation and start-up ecosystem of both France and Vietnam in the meeting with La French Tech./.
