Deputy Minister Tran Quoc Phuong expressed his gratitude towards the Government and people of Australia for sponsoring over 7 million vaccine doses for Vietnam in the COVID-19 pandemic prevention and control. He also informed that the Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and the Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison had approved the Vietnam-Australia Enhanced Economic Engagement Strategy (EEES) at the 26th United Nations Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP26) in Glasgow, United Kingdom. This joint attempt has marked the initial step of a close-knit relationship between the two nations regarding economics as well as other key sectors.

As stated by the Australian Ambassador to Vietnam Robyn Mudie, the Strategy’s endorsement was a milestone in the economic engagement progress between Vietnam and Australia. The Australia’s vaccine sponsorship for Vietnam has proven the latter’s crucial partnership to the Oceanian country. An information website created by Australia will soon be widely published and disseminated to enterprises, ministries and sectors of both parties.

In agreement with the launching of the Strategy website, Deputy Minister Phuong thanked the Australian Government for its significant activities on the Strategy’s announcement. The MPI has carried out related tasks and informed other ministries, sectors and localities when the EEES Strategy was approved by the Prime Ministers of both partners. The Ministry will continue to research and widely disseminate the Strategy to the Vietnamese business community on that basis./.
