Deputy Minister Phuong welcomed Schuiling’ visit to the Ministry of Planning and Investment and said that this would enhance the multifaceted relations of Vietnam and Netherlands. He also lauded the effective support of the Netherlands in Vietnam’ socio-economic development.
The Netherlands ranked the 16th out of 140 countries/territories and the 1st among EU investors investing in Vietnam with 380 valid projects and the total registered investment capital of 13.56 billion USD.
Vietnam encourages Dutch investors to expand investment and stated to improve the investment environment, perfect the legal system and foreign investment policies. The country is willing to remove obstacles for the Dutch projects that have been granted investment registration certificates or prepared to invest.
The deputy minister recommended that the two sides bostler cooperation on the basis of international convention on building a green economy, promoting the circular economy and international commitments on green growth, sustainable development, climate change responses of Vietnam. The MPI also calls on the Dutch side to step up cooperation with Vietnam in the Mekong Delta.
For her part, Schuiling said that her visit is to enhance Vietnam-Netherlands ties. This is also her first foreign visit as the COVID-19 is controlled. The Dutch deputy minister believed that the approval of the Mekong Delta Master Plan for the 2021-2030 period, vision to 2050 would be a foundation for the two countries to have closer coordination. Vietnam and the Netherlands have many potentials in agricultural development, logistics and planning, Schuiling continued./.
