(MPI) - Deputy Minister Tran Duy Dong worked with Professor Lam Khin Yong, Senior Vice President (Research) of Nanyang Technological University (NTU) Singapore and Alex Teo, Vice President & Managing Director for South East Asia of Siemens Digital Industries Software to rolling out measures to promote Vietnam’s innovation on April 27.

Welcoming Pro. Lam Khin Young visiting the Ministry of Planning and Investment (MPI), Deputy Minister Dong suggested two sides seek opportunities in connecting universities and businesses in innovation; promoting innovation cooperation between NTU and the National Innovation Center (NIC), under the MPI.
NIC focuses on helping businesses, especially innovative startups to access different resources and developing the startup ecosystem. The deputy minister hopes Pro. Lam Khin Young shared experiences in developing and implementing the NTU’ five-year plan that in line with the Research, Innovation and Enterprise of Singapore (RIE2025); operating research centers and labs of NTU to support NIC in training high-quality human resources. It is also anticipated that NTU create more student exchange programs.
For his part, Pro. Lam Khin Young pledged his utmost efforts to bolster cooperation between NTU and NIC.

At the meeting with Alex Teo, Vice President & Managing Director for South East Asia of Siemens Digital Industries Software, Deputy Minister Dong asked Hitachi and Siemens to closely coordinate with NIC to implement the cooperation plans; train employees to support the Digital Experience Center’ activities, which was placed at NIC in collaboration of Hitachi, Siemens and the MPI.
The two sides discussed operational project of the Digital Experience Center; training programs for university and college students, agencies, organizations and businesses that interested in digital transformation./.
