FIA Director General Do Nhat Hoang spoke highly of cooperation between the MPI and the Institute over the past time.
Vietnam is a developing country that open numerous cooperation opportunities as Vietnam’s priorities are green growth, circular economy, response to climate change and digital economy. The MPI is focal point to develop the national strategy on green growth for the 2021-2030 period, vision to 2050 and coordinate with domestic agencies and ministries to promote innovation and digital transformation.
Hoang suggested the Institute deepen cooperation to help Vietnam for enhancing the private sector’ capacity and become a connection for foreign investors to invest in Vietnam. The two sides are expected to focus on such fields as improving the quality of human resources, infrastructure and consulting Vietnam in economic growth and its commitments to reach net zero emissions by 2050.
The MPI will continue to improve the favorable, open and transparent business environment and support foreign investors to successfully doing long-term business in Viet Nam.
Richard D. McClellan expressed his delight to work with the MPI under the Office of Tony Blair (OTB). From 2014-2016, OTB carried out policy advisory on restructuring the Vietnamese economy, focusing on three areas: equitisation of state-owned enterprises, infrastructure development and foreign investment attraction.
The two sides exchanged views on cooperation opportunities and ways to enhance foreign investment attraction, economic growth with the implementation of climate change commitments.
