Deputy Minister Phuong praised the Korean Government’s support in the socio-economic development of Vietnam through operating agencies and organizations. Notably, Vietnam received vaccines and medical equipment donation in COVID-19 prevention and control in 2019-2021, contributing to the country’s shift towards safe and flexible adaptation to the pandemic.
Vietnam wishes to receive concessional funds of the Government of Korea through the Economic Development Cooperation Fund (EDCF) with new projects in priority areas such as transport and urban infrastructure; health; education and training; environment; clean energy; information technology, the deputy minister noted. Funding model and concessional funds of KEXIM will promote large-scale public-private partnership (PPP) investment projects and enhance the position of Vietnam and RoK reaching out to the world.
The deputy minister hopes that the two countries’ relations will develop comprehensively in all fields such as diplomacy and economy, towards the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and RoK in 2022.
Mr. Kim Tae-soo thanked the Vietnamese Government and the MPI for their active support of the KEXIM office in Hanoi. Vietnam is an important and cooperative partner with RoK and the comprehensive relationship between the two countries is expected to further foster in the coming time. KEXIM views the MPI as an important partner and suggests that the two sides coordinate closely to soon implement projects within the cooperation framework. This is an opportunity to strengthen cooperation as foreign investment potential in Vietnam are large.
The two sides pledged utmost to promote ongoing and upcoming projects and seek opportunities for the 2026-2030 period, contributing to strengthening the Vietnam-RoK relations./.
