Over the past years, the Ministry of Planning and Investment (MPI) of Vietnam has held professional training for cadres of Lao Planning and Investment sector within the framework of the annual cooperation agreement between the two Governments of Vietnam and Laos, and the two ministries of Planning and Investment.

The training centre for economic - planning personnel, under the MPI has organized 11 training course for 172 Lao cadres since 2002. These meaningful events will not only contribute to improving knowledge and raising capability of Lao cadres but also deepen the Vietnam - Laos relations.

Deputy Minister Phuong congratulated Lao cadres attending the training course in Vietnam, which he hoped the course will achieve good results and become a model for the next efficient courses.

The Lao trainees will focus on basic knowledge and experiences in private investment and SEZs development, which is one of driving forces to promote socio-economic development. The two ministries act as advisors to their governments and Parties, so the course will be an opportunity for Lao officials to gain experience and improve efficiency in their works, the deputy minister said.

He called on Lao officials to frankly exchange on mechanisms, policies and solutions to develop the private sector and SEZs, and have effective proposals in socio-economic development of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic. Vietnam also has some working groups with Lao agencies to remove obstacles and propose solutions for the macroeconomic development of Laos, soon recover and develop the economy.

Oniphanh OUDOMSACK, Head of the Lao delegation used the occasion to thank the MPI for their warm welcome and organizing an effective training course for Lao officials. He affirmed that Lao cadres will actively learn Vietnam’s experience in private investment development to bring the best results for both sides./.
