Minister Dung congratulated Dahlwy for his appointment as the new Ambassador of Saudi Arabia in Vietnam, believed that the ambassador will excellently fulfill his term of office in Vietnam to promote Saudi Arabia-Vietnam relationship to a new level.
He stressed that Saudi Arabia is one of Vietnam’s leading economic partners in the Middle East, but its trade-investment relations remains modest and has yet to match potential. Saudi Arabia owns large investment capital while Vietnam has abundant workforce, favorable geographic location and many free trade agreements have been signed.
Both sides need to create conditions, introduce cooperation potential and organize investment promotion programs between the two countries’ businesses to bolster two-way trade in the future, he said.
The minister shared, Saudi Arabia will become a gateway for Vietnam to participate in the Middle East market, and Vietnam could be a bridge for Saudi Arabia to access the Southeast Asia and Asia market. He also urged the two sides to accelerate the signing of the agreement on investment promotion and protection between the two countries in order to promote large-scale and significant projects, and continue to support each other to increase their mutual benefits.
The Ministry of Planning and Investment is committed to accompany Saudi Arabian businesses and create favorable conditions for them to explore potential and invest in Vietnam, he affirmed.
For his part, Ambassador Mohammed Ismaeil A. Dahlwy expressed his delight at the effective and increasingly growing ties between Saudi Arabia and Vietnam. He stressed, Saudi Arabia highly aprreciates Vietnam’s experiences in the economic developement.
The ambassador informed his host that the Vietnam - Saudi Arabia Joint Committee would be held in the first quarter of 2023. The joint committee will create a driving force for investment and trade cooperation between the two sides; exchange experiences for both enterprises to explore opportunities for investment. The Embassy of Saudi Arabia in Vietnam will coordinate closely with the MPI to leverage the two countries’ relationship./.
