The deputy minister expressed his hope that Akira will continue to pay attention to and support the multi-faced cooperation between Vietnam and Japan to intensify the extensive strategic partnership.
He also congratulated and asked Sugano Yuichi, new JICA Chief Representative, will further promote JICA’s role in forging the two countries’ relations and the close cooperation between the ministry of planning and investment and JICA.
The deputy minister called for JICA’s continued assistance in the implementation of infrastructure projects in response to climate change, fruitfully materialising the Politburo’s resolutions on socio-economic development and defence - security safeguarding for six regions. The MPI is committed to stand side by side with JICA to successfully fulfil joint projects.
For his part, Akira said he treasures the cooperation of the MPI for closely work with the JICA Vietnam Office and himself during his working term since 2020.
He thanked the ministry and relevant Vietnamese agencies for creating possible conditions for JICA to sign a number of memorandum of understanding on cooperation, particularly projects related to transport infrastructure, irrigation and response to climate change in six regions of Vietnam.
Japan always views Vietnam an important partner, therefore Akira suggested the two sides step up cooperation in some new areas of digital transformation and green growth, towards the celebration of the 50th years of the two nations’ diplomatic ties./.
