The Laos-Vietnam Friendship hospital was built using non-refundable aid from the Vietnamese Government for Laos. With 20 beds and modern equipment, the hospital will meet the healthcare demand of Lao people. It is one of key projects between Vietnam and Laos, and is paid great attention by the two Parties and Governments and people of Vietnam.

Addressing the event, Deputy Minister Phuong said the inauguration and hand over the hospital contributes to improving healthcare service quality people for in Xiangkhouang and northeastern localities of Laos.

He extended his ministry’s greetings to the Lao Government and Xiangkhouang province for putting into operation the hospital, which reflects the determination of the two Governments in enhancing socio-economic cooperation and strengthening the traditional friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two nations.

The deputy minister asked Nghe An province continue to coordinate closely with authorities of Laos and Xiangkhouang province to ensure smooth operations and maintenance of the hospital, and personnel training activities within the project’s framework.

Viengsavanh Vilayphone, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Laos-Vietnam Cooperation Committee, emphasised Laos’s determination to effectively operate the hospital to bring great benefits to locals and people of nearby localities, adding that he believes the hospital's operation would meet the expectations of the Parties, States and people both sides.

The inauguration ceremony of the Laos-Vietnam Friendship Hospital marks an important milestone in the traditional friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos in general, Nghe An province and Xiangkhouang province with a spirit of “evergreen and sustainable forever”./.
