On behalf of MPI, MPI Deputy Minister Nguyen Chi Dzung on March 5, 2009 signed a cooperation agreement on broadcasting InvestTV channel with Vietnam Television with the witness of Foreign Investment Agency (FIA) Director Phan Huu Thang, FIA Deputy Director Bui Quoc Trung, VTV Deputy Director Dinh Quang Hung, Director of Cable Television Technical Center Mr. Dinh Quoc Viet, Head of Cable Television Editing Board Mr. Nguyen Thanh Lam and other staff of FIA, VTV and Vietba Media Company.
The Agreement’s objectives are to establish a TV channel as a media tool of the Party and State management in investment with focus on foreign direct investment; a channel with specialized contents in development planning, economic management regime and policies, foreign and domestic investment of Vietnam and Vietnam’s investment in other countries; investment in industrial and economic zones to provide updated and comprehensive information on investment activities, investment management, projects, bidding, enterprise development, investment environment, investment promotion activities.
MPI Deputy Minister Nguyen Chi Dzung and VTV standing Deputy Director signed the Agreement on broadcasting InvestTV channel at VTV office 43 Nguyen Chi Thanh, Hanoi in the morning of March 5, 2009.
As agreed, FIA of MPI will be responsible for information to be broadcasted in the channel, providing official information on areas under MPI management; providing trainings on knowledge of investment and investment promotion activities to VTV staff.
Giving speech at the signing, MPI Deputy Minister Nguyen Chi Dzung stressed that the Agreement is signed at an important moment when Vietnam is preparing for its Socio-Economic plan for 2011 – 2020 and also during the World economic crisis. Therefore, InvestTV plays an important role, acting as a bridge between the Government and enterprises, between local and foreign investors with an aim to promote and attract investment, especially ODA.
At the end of the signing, Mr. Tran Dang Tuan thanked cooperation of MPI in general and of FIA in particular and stressed that InvestTV would be an effective channel in promoting, attracting investment, especially ODA for the socio-economic development of the country./.
