(MPI Portal) - Under the direction of the Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai in Document No. 6591/VPCP-KTN dated September 3rd, 2009, the Ministry of Planning and Investment was assigned to coordinate with the Ministries, localities, economic groups and state corporations to continue pilot online procurement until the end of 2013. The Ministry of Planning and Investment has released Dispatch No.6965/BKHDT-QLDT dated September 12, 2012 on the continued implementation of online procurement.

Accordingly, the Ministry of Planning and Investment asked People's Committees of provinces and cities directly under the Central Government to appoint an assigned unit for coordination with the Public Procurement Agency, Ministry of Planning and Investment to make a list of investors, bid solicitors under their management and send to the Ministry of Planning and Investment (the Public Procurement Agency) before September 25^th, 2012; to set training plan for all investors, bid solicitors to register and post online procurement information under the guidance in Circular No. 17/2010/TT-BKH of July 22^nd, 2010 and Document No. 8606/BKHDT-QLDT dated December 1^st, 2010 of the Ministry of Planning and Investment; Based on actual situation and conditions to choose bidding packages for which contractors are selected through competitive offering, open bidding on a small scale to pilot online bidding.

Ministry of Planning and Investment proposed People's Committees of provinces and cities under central to set a plan of online bidding and send to the Public Procurement Agency, the Ministry of Planning and Investment before October 10^th, 2012 to monitor and coordinate implementation.
