(MPI) - The Vietnam National Innovation Center (NIC), under the Ministry of Planning and Investment (MPI) in collaboration with the Meta Corporation in Hanoi on September 8 organised the Vietnam Innovation Award 2023 to announce the 12 best innovative solutions. Vietnam Innovation Challenge (VIC) is steered by the MPI and organised by the NIC and Meta Corporation, aiming to seek innovative solutions from domestic and international organisations and individuals to tackle critical national challenges on its path towards prosperous and sustainable development.

Themed “Innovation and digital transformation in business for global value chains”, the VIC 2023 seeks digital transformation solutions and products to enhance the capabilities of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), aiming to attract sustainable investment in Vietnam and facilitate domestic businesses’ participation in global value chains.

The programme drew 758 innovative solutions and digital transformation products submitted from 10 countries and territories with developed innovation ecosystems; Over 70 leading experts in the field of innovation, technology, business management, market development, and investment; More than 30 committed partners, including numerous major enterprises, investment funds, and support organisations.

In his remarks, Minister Nguyen Chi Dung said that innovation need both direction of the Party and State, attention of government agencies and the participation of businesses and consensus of the entire society.

The business community of Vietnam need to pay attention and put into use the typical solutions announced today. These are truly solutions gathered from all over the world to handle very specific problems of businesses and the Vietnamese market," the Minister emphasized.

Simon Milner, President of Public Policy in Asia and Pacific at Meta said that the company is proud to be a strategic partner with the MPI. The programme is part of Meta’s commitment to the long-term growth of the focusing on technology and innovation-focused Vietnamese economy.

The 12 best innovative solutions, representing three groups of large corporations and groups, SMEs, and startups  were announced. These solutions garnered high praise from the evaluation committee and helped businesses unlock more effective approaches, streamline processes, and create value for society.

Among those solutions, the 4 most excellent solutions, namely digital transformation platform - oneSME  of VNPT, all in one management information system - MISA AMIS of MISA, Robotic Process Automation solutions - akaBot of FPT IS, and energy-saving solution - Benkon will be honoured at the NIC Hoa Lac centre’s inauguration and the Vietnam International Innovation Exhibition 2023 (VIIE 2023).

Also at the event, the Vietnam Innovation Challenge 2024 was officially launched with a theme “Innovation to accelerate the semiconductor industry and smart manufacturing to go global”. The programme’s is to speed up innovation in the semiconductor industry and smart manufacturing to foster the global expansion of businesses and sustainable development of the country./.
