(MPI) - Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung received Chairman of the Korea Federation of small and medium-sized enterprises (KBIZ) Kim Ki-moon in Hanoi on June 22, during which he asked KBIZ to cooperate with the Vietnam Association of SMEs (VINASME) based on the moto of complementing and supporting each other.

At the meeting, Minister Dung said that Korean businesses have made significant contributions to Vietnam’s socio-economic development as they boost the imports, exports activities and improve local people’s living standard during their business operation.

He thanked Korean investors for always keeping trust in Vietnam’s policies and maintaining their business, production activities to ensure commitments made by leaders of the two countries.

Highlighting the Vietnamese Government’s willing to accompany foreign investors and strive to offer the most incentives for businesses, the official hoped Korean firms continue to believe in the country’s investment environment.

The minister used the occasion to suggest KBIZ and VINASME strengthen their cooperation in technology transfer and personnel training based on the principle of complementing and supporting each other. These will help Korean SMEs deeply participate in Vietnamese market, and vice versa, those from Vietnam could access to the global supply chain.

Kim, for his part, said that many Korean businesses seek investment opportunities and wish to expand operations in Vietnam. He hoped the Vietnamese Government create all possible support to Korean investor and a transparent investment climate.

KBIZ Chairman exchanged some issues related to work permits, visas for foreigners, and tax procedures to ensure the Korean SMEs’ operation in the country, affirming that Vietnam remains a promising destination for Korean investors./.
