Deputy Minister Trung spoke highly of the effective cooperation between Vietnam and Finland in the areas of environment, energy and clean water supply, contributing significantly to the process of water source protection and manufacturing industry of Vietnam.

The deputy minister also informed the Finnish Ambassador about Vietnam’s regulations in investment and bidding procedures, and policies to encourage and attract foreign investors in energy development, wastewater treatment, green and clean technology, healthcare, and education and training.

For his part, Ambassador Keijo Norvanrto highlighted over the 50 years of establishing diplomatic ties, both Vietnam and Finland have enjoy long-lasting traditional development partnership and practical cooperation in various areas, especially in sustainable development such as clean water, environmental protection, afforestation and forestry.

Ambassador Norvanto informed Deputy Minister Trung about Finland’s development cooperation policy with Vietnam, and a number of projects using their official development assistance (ODA) loans within the framework of the Public Sector Investment Facility (PIF) by the Finnish Government Vietnam. He expressed his hope that obstacles facing related to regulations and procedures will soon be resolved, thus soon promoting the project implementation that in accordance with both sides’ demands.

The two sides discussed frankly about remaining difficulties during the project implementation, and reach consensus to continue coordinating closely to soon remove remaining difficulties and encourage new projects. Deputy Minister Trung affirmed that as the Government agency in charge of preparing and organising the mobilisation of ODA loan, the MPI will always be responsible for working with related agencies to unlock capital sources and create the most favorable conditions for successful project implementation./.
