Minister Nguyen Chi Dung chairs meeting to collect comments for draft report on direction and task of 2026-2030 five-year socio-economic development

(MPI) - Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung, head of the drafting group of the socio-economic sub-committee preparing for the 14th National Congress of the Party, chaired a meeting with the standing section of the drafting group in Hanoi on March 15 to discuss the drafting of report evaluating the five-year implementation of the 2021-2030 ten-year socio-economic development strategy, and the directions and tasks for socio-economic development for the five-year of 2026-2030.

The draft outline includes three parts: (1) evaluating the 5-year implementation of the 10-year 2021-2030 socio-economic development strategy; (2) directions and tasks for socio-economic development for the 5 years of 2026-2030; (3) and implementation organisation. The first part is expected to cover contents such as the strategy implementation, achieved results, limitations, general evaluation, causes and learned lessons. The second part is expected to include issues such as forecasting the context, situation, development viewpoints, development goals and main tasks and solutions.

Minister Dung pointed out that the 10-year socio-economic development strategy for the 2021-2030 period identifies three strategic breakthroughs, including the socialist-oriented market economy, human resources and infrastructure. Therefore, the draft report for evaluating the 5-year implementation of the strategy must closely follow the identified breakthroughs, and evaluation contents must have specific data and results.

It is also important to closely follow international and domestic situations, new trends and to focus on analysing macroeconomic situation and perfecting, improving institutional quality; developing science, technology and innovation, education and training, including personnel training, industrialisation and modernisation of economic restructuring; infrastructure development; cultural and social development; management and utilisation of resources, environmental protection, response to climate change; foreign affairs and international integration.

Regarding the draft directions and tasks for socio-economic development for the five-year of 2026-2030, Minister Dung said that in addition to pointing out outstanding results, importance must put in evaluating existing limitations and obstacles, and drawing learned lessons, thus defining specific directions and tasks for the next period through economy, society and environment indicators./.
