(MPI) - Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc, on April 5 led a delegation to extend greetings to the Lao Embassy in Vietnam on the occasion of their traditional new year festival Bunpimay.

On behalf of the ministry’s leaders and the Vietnam - Laos Cooperation Committee, Deputy Minister Ngoc offered best wishes to the Lao Embassy on the occasion of the Lao traditional festival Bunpimay, and sent congratulation to Khamphao Ernthavanh on her new appointment as the Lao Ambassador to Vietnam.

The special relationship between Vietnam and Laos has been increasingly preserved, cultivated and consolidated by the two countries’ people as a valuable heritage. The Party, State and people of Vietnam always value considers the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation with Laos as the top priority, she said.

Deputy Minister Ngoc thanked the Lao Embassy in Vietnam for acting as a bridge connecting the Vietnamese Ministry of Planning and Investment (MPI) and Lao agencies to fruitfully implement activities and documents agreed at the 46th meeting of the Vietnam-Laos Intergovernmental Committee for Bilateral Cooperation. She suggested the embassy continue coordinating together with the ministry for common development of both countries, thus tightening the Laos-Vietnam traditional friendship and further promoting trade, investment, economic activities in the time ahead.

For her part, the Lao ambassador expressed her appreciation for the MPI’s congratulations and affirmed that the Vietnam-Laos ties has been continuously maintained and developed practically and effectively by the leaders of both Parties, States and Governments.

Khamphao also thanked the MPI, acting as Vietnam - Laos Cooperation Committee, for well coordinating with Lao agencies to remove facing difficulties and obstacles to speed up the implementation and operation of investment projects.

The diplomat expressed her belief that the cooperative relationship between the Lao Embassy in Vietnam and the MPI will contribute to promoting economic, trade and diplomatic relations between the two countries into a new height.

She affirmed that the Lao Embassy will continue to work closely with the MPI in monitoring and fostering the effective implementation of cooperation agreements reached by high-ranking leaders as well as promoting their roles in constantly reinforcing political trust and bilateral cooperation between the two sides./.
