(MPI) - Ministry of Planning and Investment (MPI) in collaboration with the German International Cooperation Organization (GIZ) in Hanoi on April 9 announced the Annual Report on Digital Transformation 2023: Promoting digital transformation with green transition.

The report is an annual publication within the framework of the support programme for enterprises’ digital transformation for the 2021-2025 period, implemented by the MPI’s Enterprise Development Agency (AED). With the support of the German Government through GIZ, the 2023 Annual Digital Transformation Report provides a comprehensive and updates digital transformation situation worldwide and in Vietnam, and also offers businesses a variety of perspectives on the dual transformation trend.

Nguyen Duc Trung, MPI’s AED Deputy Director stated that during from 2021 to 2023, the MPI collaborated with various ministries, authorities, associations, domestic and international organisations to carry out numerous activities within the framework of the support programme for enterprises’ digital transformation for the 2021-2025 period, focusing on popularising and raising awareness of digital transformation among businesses in all 63 provinces and cities nationwide.

Businesses currently have shown significant shifts in their awareness of the necessity of digital transformation. Many enterprises have entered the phase of data digitisation, standardisation of processes, application of digital technologies, and are moving towards more extensive and synchronised digital transformation.

The ministry has also conducted specific activities to enhance awareness, provide training, advisory on roadmap development, implementation consultancy, and develop tools to support digital transformation for enterprises, gradually assisting them in applying technological solutions in production, management, and business with the support of international organisations such as GIZ, United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).

Dennis Quennet, GIZ Director Sustainable Economic Development stated that the annual report reflects efforts to promote digital transformation for businesses. This is one of cooperative contents between Vietnam and Germany to identify impacts on Vietnam’s economy during the green transformation process, especially within the business sector, focusing on supporting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Vietnam enhancing competitiveness. Experience shows that promoting innovation, raising awareness for businesses is crucial, helping them tap opportunities, effectively use resource.

The support programme for enterprises’ digital transformation for the 2021-2025 period will continue to focus on in-depth support activities such as developing digital transformation roadmaps, consulting solutions and technology support to promote digital and green transformation among Vietnamese enterprises./.
