Ministry of Planning and Investment presents insignia to JCCI Chairman

(MPI) - The Ministry Planning and Investment presented the insignia “For the cause of Vietnam’s planning and investment sector” to Kinoshita Tadahiro, Director General of Sojitz Vietnam and president of the Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Vietnam (JCCI) in Hanoi on March 25.

Do Nhat Hoang, Director General of the MPI’s Foreign Investment Agency, highly appreciated Japan’s valuable contributions and support in terms of resources and techniques for Vietnam, as well as JCCI’s close cooperation in promoting the official development assistance (ODA) between the two countries.

As co-chairman of the Vietnam-Japan Joint Initiative, Tadahiro helped in implementing phase 8 of the initiative, making contribution to improving Vietnam’s investment environment. He also prepared the high-level workshop of the 50th anniversary of establishing Vietnam-Japan diplomatic relations and organise various cultural, economic and sports activities, contributing to deepening the two countries’ relationship.

He expressed his belief that in any future position, Tadahiro will continue foster cooperation in all spheres with Vietnam and encourage Japanese enterprises to step up investment here, thus bringing Vietnam - Japan ties into a new height and promoting the well collaboration between the MPI and JCCI in recent times.

For his part, Tadahiro acknowledged the ministry’s assistance and support during his working term in Vietnam from January 2019 to March 2024. He affirmed that Vietnam is always an important partner of Japan, and there are ample room for the two sides enhance the good cooperative relationship in new areas such as digital transformation and green growth.

JCCI includes representatives of about 1.23 million Japanese businesses across Japan, including those from large corporations and small and medium-sized enterprises. JCCI plays a significant role as a coordinator in the implementation of the Vietnam - Japan Joint Initiative. JCCI’s members are Japanese businesses in Vietnam, who are also in the working group in the joint initiative.

On this occasion, authorised by the MPI leaders, Hoang has presented the insignia “For the cause of Vietnam’s planning and investment sector” to Tadahiro and three officials from the Vietnam-Japan Economic Committee and JCCI to acknowledge the contribution in the process of building and developing Vietnam's planning and investment sector./.
